The Puzzle of Memory
by Carl Josehart
irreverent puzzle
pieces won’t fit
oft times there seems too many
more frequently
not enough
damaged pieces
cherished for posterity
but lost to the endeavor
clutter the tableau
never to be completed
lovingly maintained
faithfully
contemplating a
beautiful
fragment
sirens
sing
“almost”
reality
answers in chorus
“never enough”
