Hurricane Harvey: Notes from a Storm
My faith teaches me that after creation the world was left imperfect – incomplete – so that people would have the opportunity to be partners with our creator in the work of making the world a better place.
If your faith, like mine, teaches you that it is your obligation to help those in need – then it is important to remember – in order to fulfill this obligation – there must be people willing to receive the help being offered.
By choosing to live your life as a healthcare professional you provide help to those in need every day. If you are temporarily in need of help you now have the opportunity to help others by receiving the care that want to offer you.
Receiving help graciously is as much an act of faith as offering help. Giving and receiving help is a partnership in which both the giver and receiver are enriched.
