Too Soon

Man-Sitting-Alone

Too Soon

by Carl Josehart

too soon
to say goodbye
you are still the rock
which anchors our lives
the house
our souls inhabit
refuge
respite
and hope

still the sun
around which our lives orbit
reckoning direction
from your central star

meaningless moments
filled with purpose
by your presence

too soon
to say goodbye
separate strands of our lives
create a beautiful tapestry
knit together
bound through you
unity
diversity
and harmony

too soon
to say goodbye
the spirit returns to God
comfort her
help her find
release
return and peace

still the pillar
a fire before our people
guided safely
through your abundant love

memories endure
inspirations for goodness
charity and deeds

too soon
to say goodbye
you are still the rock
forming a solid foundation
for family
and the future
healing
faith
and hope
