The Measure of a Life

calendar

Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Moments so dear
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes
How do you measure – measure a year?

(from RENT – Seasons Of Love, by Jonathan Larson)

The Measure of a Life
by Carl Josehart

contrary to popular belief

we are rich in time
but poor in choosing

rich in intention
but poor in action

rich in dreams
but poor in waking

rich in wishing
but poor in acting

may the new year bring an abundance of
choosing wisely
acting with intent
waking to building our dreams
acting on the wishes of our heart

measuring our lives
not in minutes
but in memories
